Make Each Day Count
An incident occurred some years back in my office. My manager came in for the morning meeting and announced in a comical way that one of the drivers just met him with a story. The story was that his wife had given birth suddenly without notice. So he needed some form of financial assistance to cope with the birth. His response to the man was, ‘’Oh, I thought she had given you nine months’ notice?. He made a joke out of it, but I learned a lot from the case.

One key moral of this story is that each day counts. When we fail to do something each day towards our goals, we often do not achieve them. Don’t be afraid to start with baby steps. The saying by popular sales giant TESCO is, ‘Every little counts’.

Don’t wait until the last minute to take action or plan towards something that is important to you.
Life is a summation of daily activities that contribute towards our overall achievements or failures. So each second, minute, and hour counts. Your daily activities add up to the big picture.
Are there days when you feel you’ve not fully achieved your goals? What do you do to get back on track? How do you align your daily activities with your goals? Each day presents us with 86,400 seconds. This means that each day gives us countless opportunities to pursue or reset our goals.
Three ways to align your daily activities with your goals.
• Plan for each day. Have a daily mission goal.
Your mission is like a beacon that beckons on you. Work towards it. Do something each day that contributes towards what you want to achieve.
• Don’t take on too many commitments for each day.
Cut out the activities that do not align with your goals. Avoid those activities that derail you or drain you of the energy needed for achieving your purpose.
• Keep one day completely open.
This helps you to clear out unachieved goals so you can have a fresh start each week. It can get overwhelming trying to juggle so many balls simultaneously. Have a day as a breather. It’s not a fun day but a catch-up day. Use it at your own discretion.
Stay Blessed
