Excellence in career and academics as a believer
Recently, I came across an article on a young Nigerian lady by the name, Nkechi Okwuone. She is one of the youngest open data managers in the African region and was listed by the World Bank in 2017, as one of the four leading women in open data in Africa. She has also featured in the Harvard curriculum as a data champion in Africa. This is a case of global excellence.
Excellence is not limited by age, race, or gender. It cuts across borders and limitations. It opens doors and grants access to everyone and anyone who has it. To drive home this crucial discussion, our mentorship focus at CYMI Members’ group for the month of November has been tagged, ‘Excellence in career and academics as a believer’.
Why do we need to excel as believers?
Firstly, it is God’s desire for his children to excel. He created us as Kings and priests to rule upon the earth. Revelations 5:10. Without excellence, you cannot rule as a King in your field.
Secondly, excellence places a mark of distinction on your skill. It causes you to be preferred. Daniel was preferred in Babylon because he had an excellent Spirit. Daniel 6:3
We’ll be discussing keys to achieving excellence, traits needed to achieve and sustain excellence and so much more.
Welcome to the month of November, your month of excellence.
God bless you.
