BREAKING THE HABIT OF IMPULSIVE SPENDING
Breaking The Habit of Impulsive Spending
PART 1
Everyone does it….at least let’s say a great percentage by statistics has proven to be true.
Yes! Everyone has been there …
Impulsive buying or spending is spontaneous spending on items without any plan in mind.
You might have been scrolling your phone..and an advertisement pops up …and you clicked to buy it,
or perhaps you went on shopping and suddenly you caught a glimpse of a beautiful shoe on the window of your favorite shopping spot.
Wow!! It’s beautiful so you thought,
Not minding that earlier that week or month you had bought some shoes.. .cloths or anything.
And then you decided..why not make a second buy. A few more shoes you never actually planned for.
That spontaneous purchase may also hurt your purse but you don’t mind.
Sometimes it may hurt your income terribly but you don’t really mind as long as it becomes one more treasure in your archive of shoes or dresses.
Little by little, and suddenly your wardrobe is filled with extra things and your bank account is getting depleted gradually..and before you realize what’s happening to you..you are back to zero account.
AND IF YOU KEEP DOING IT AS A HABIT…THEN IMPULSIVE SPENDING HAS BECOME A CONTINUOUS DESTRUCTIVE ACTIVITY THAT LEADS TO POVERTY.
Most people are addicted to spending impulsively by their feelings and pleasure-seeking rather than for their needs.
Proverbs 21:17
He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
In other words, impulsive spending usually leads a person to poverty.
Impulsive spending can attract demons of vanities and emptier spirits.
Controlling spirit of pleasures is closely related to the spirit of greed. It ensures that the victim spends money unwisely. A person under this spirit wants to make money just to spend it on pleasure; the victim loves parties and is addicted to wild living.
Others engage in impulsive spending because they lack money skills.
Let’s live intentionally.
