‘Acquiring Vital Competencies and Soft Skills for the Labour Market’.
The competition is tough out there for the young graduate and the labour market has become quite tricky. It takes only the best and a touch of excellence to stand out.
Our mentorship program this month is designed to help our young graduates stand out and get the six-digit jobs they have always desired and longed for.
👉 So, our focus is on the series ‘Acquiring Vital Competencies and Soft Skills for the Labour Market’.
A lot of people scale through the written interviews but perform dismally in the oral interviews.
Why is this so?
The oral interview is often targeted at accessing soft skills and competencies. A lot of people don’t know how to portray these qualities, even when they possess them. Your soft skills and competencies are meant to give you an advantage.
👉 Soft skills are non-technical skills that are less rooted in a specific vocation. An example of soft skill is verbal communication.
👉 Competencies on the other hand are a person’s knowledge and behaviours that help them to be successful in a job. Examples of competencies are analytical thinking, problem-solving, innovation et al. Competences can be further divided into task, thought and people competencies.
Due to the broad nature of this topic, we will handle only competencies in series one and soft skills at a later date.
