Communication in Career
Attending monthly performance review meetings (MOR) was a nightmare in my former organization, especially for managers who didn’t perform so well in the month under review.
It was common to see grown-up men shedding tears after they’ve been thoroughly bashed for poor performance.
Did that affect the productivity of the people involved positively or negatively? Maybe positively in the short term because everyone wanted to make a profit to avoid being in the hot seat. Then negatively in the long run because some managers started tampering with the books while some looked for greener pastures.
Communication with superiors, equals, and subordinates in the workplace is a crucial part of one’s career. Research has proved that there is a relationship between good communication and sustainable productivity.
