FIGHTING THE POLLUTANTS OF LUST, INFATUATION AND SELF PITY 1, (Success in Relationship Series)
A wise man once said, “Life is like a battlefield, you have to keep on fighting and keep pushing no matter your circumstances, to enable you to stay with the positive energy as long as you live. That is how to win and succeed in life”.
We live in a generation where many people are going through a lot in their lives but find it hard to share because of how people backstab, belittle others, and use people’s unpleasant circumstances to judge such people at any given opportunity, which is bad by nature and by Faith.
In the mix of a world full of happenings and activities, this tends to make people adopt habits such as:
|✓| Lust (Strong desire for earthly pleasure).
|✓| Infatuation (“Self deception” to tell yourself a lie and justifying it as the best way of getting things done)
|✓| Self-pity ( Feeling sorry for oneself; being depressed about one’s situation).
To fight the above pollutants or habits, one has to be aware of who they are, who rules the world, what life is about, the purpose of mankind, and the purpose of life’s challenges, one has to understand that without setbacks and rough times, life will not be worth living in.
Imagine everyone getting what they want without struggling or putting effort to get what they want or need. Life would have been like a playgroup and I don’t think life will be worth living to some extent, our struggles make us appreciate every achievement and progress we make.
HOW TO FIGHT THE POLLUTANTS OF LUST, INFATUATION, AND SELF-PITY.
– You have to understand life is a journey for the brave and strong, so build yourself.
– You have to understand that setbacks are meant to guide and teach us to do better, so we try not to become bitter and give up.
-You have to be ready to take your life seriously and learn to let go of what is not contributing to your personal growth and development be it humans or issues.
-You have to work on your focus, only focus on what is vital to your growth.
-You have to find your purpose and focus on building yourself to fulfill your purpose.
-You have to come to terms that only those who are willing to succeed and pay the price get to their destination with the help of God.
-You have to make sure you do all you can to make every day count, don’t procrastinate, complain, or wander around, make every day count, every little knowledge and work add to our progress.
-You have to make sure you surround yourself with the kind of people that will add value and encourage you to do better, not people who envy and want to destroy you.
-You have to understand that life will not give you what you want on a platter of gold, you have to work to earn it.
-Above all you have to understand that God who created man is the only one who gives man knowledge through the help of the Holy Spirit to fight through life, so depend on his help and leading daily. (Proverbs 3:5)
On Lust.
Lust is a dangerous feeling, make sure you are focused on life and don’t let lust deprive you of the privilege to live better and do better for yourself.
On Infatuation.
Infatuation means being foolish, lacking good judgment, and engaging in short-term unreasonable love. To avoid being an infatuated individual you have to be morally guided and make sure your life is guided by principles of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.
On Self pity.
Self-pity can destroy one’s life. It is a spirit of guilt, and shame, dwelling on your mistakes and unpleasant circumstances. The truth about self-pity is, that everyone you come across is fighting a battle you may not know about, so focus on fighting your challenges and pulling through, not dwelling on your mistakes and regrets.
NOTE: You have to make sure you fight to sustain a positive response and energy to life challenges. No matter what life throws at you, build yourself up to face life with courage and strength, not shame and pity.
