You were made for more, don’t die small
JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter series first conceived her ideas while waiting for a delayed train on her way to King’s Cross Station. She scribbled her ideas on pieces of scrap paper, developing it gradually while raising her daughter and living as an unemployed single mother on welfare benefits.
Five years later, her finished manuscript of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was rejected by 12 publishers before finally getting accepted by Bloomsbury Publishing. The Harry Potter series has shaped an entire generation of children, and sold over 500 million copies worldwide, and made Rowling the first billionaire author in the world, despite her disadvantaged beginning.
The power for greatness lies in each of us. It takes diligence and consistency to enter into the right place, and not cave into defeat. Mordecai from scriptures sat for years at the king’s gate. He was diligent and consistent at his work. He even saved the King’s life, but he was not rewarded at that time. However, events turned in his favour and he ended up as a prince at the palace and regained all his lost rewards.
It may not look like things are changing for you, but like Mordecai and Rowling, don’t give up. Remain diligent and consistent at your duty post. Keep doing what you are doing. Don’t be discouraged by rejections. Things will turn in your favour and your rewards will start speaking loudly.
Be intentional and keep achieving.
