COMMITMENT AS A TOOL FOR EXCELLENCE
I was a book addict in my secondary school days. It paid off when I graduated with eight As. But as I gained admission into the university, I felt I needed to relax and play a bit more. However, that decision to relax my commitment to my studies affected my year one results. I had to work harder in subsequent years to get the CGPA I wanted.
Commitment to a thing has to be 100 percent if excellence must be achieved. When your commitment decreases, productivity also decreases.
What is Commitment?
Commitment means to be sold out to a cause in life. It is an attitude that must be in place if success or excellence must be achieved.
Seven (7) nuggets to note about excelling through commitment
- Only committed people excel in their pursuits. You cannot be truly sold to a purpose and not excel in it. Commitment motivates you to crave excellence and to achieve more.
- It has been proven that a man’s level of commitment invariably determines his ultimate attainment, so get committed and you will end up distinguished.
- Commitment opens the door for creativity. Creativity enhances productivity. Increased productivity births excellence.
- Don’t be committed to rewards. Rather, be committed to a cause. Your commitment to a cause will bring rewards.
- Commitment is not an act but an attitude. It is a winning attitude. It has no substitute. It must be in place if excellence must be attained.
- No seed can grow until it is committed to the ground. Then it dies before it emerges. Every story of excellence has a breaking process.
- To your commitment, add joy and trust in the Lord for divine guidance.
