DISCRETION SHALL PRESERVE YOU
Do you often find yourself in trouble and at the end, you kick yourself and wonder how you came to this trouble? Do you think of other ways that you could’ve handled it?
DO YOU FIND THAT YOU REPEATEDLY MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE OVER AND OVER AGAIN?
Does each new day bring challenges that weary you and you wish there’s something you should be able to do to handle such challenges?
DISCRETION IS THE KEY.
Proverbs 2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee.
DISCRETION is a component of wisdom. Discretion is the quality of someone who is careful about what they do or say. It is so essential to your development. When this wisdom enters into your heart, it will preserve you against mistakes, sinful behaviours and temptation.
How do I generate this capacity to possess this wisdom?
#1 Depend on the Holy Spirit
Our example is Jesus Christ, the pattern son of God who submitted himself and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 4:1. The Holy Spirit in you will remind you of God’s instructions to save you from troubles. He will activate your conscience if you go wrong and ensure that you do not repeat errors.
#2 Transform your life daily with the word of God
Romans 12:2
Do not allow the world pressure from the outside to force you to conform to it.
Don’t let the world dictate and determine what you become…..of course
That’s discretion!.
you can refuse the negative pressure the world is mounting on you. You don’t have to live in sin because the world is putting pressure on your flesh
#3 Discretion can be learnt by experience. Gleen wisdom and truths from other people’s experiences. It can be a source of wisdom for you to learn from. Be interested to learn what others encountered and be wise to take corrections from other people’s mistakes.
