Have you stayed in Royal Gates Hotel, Dubai before? Oh my God, it was awesome. You need to see the Jacuzzi in their rooms, their swimming pool, amazing…………lol
Have you ever had a colleague at work who spent their time chatting about their families, their last vacation, their shopping, or complaining about their sister-in-law from hell, school runs, or plans for Christmas???
How would you describe their work ethics? Would you say they are passionate and committed to their work? Probably not. At least not most of the time.
One of the ways of building character in the workplace is to keep your home life at home.
When you are at work, be at work. Be focused on the job and get on with it. If you spend time focused on what goes on at home, the assumption will be that you are not committed to your job, which may not be far from the truth.
Of course, your colleagues will know vital things about you such as your marital status, your kids, and your hobbies but keep it in the background and concentrate on work during working hours.
This will help you do the best job you can in the quickest and most competent way without errors.
Everyone has a story and we sometimes need an outlet and good friends to talk to, but it shouldn’t be during working hours. You can arrange for an after-work sit-out with a good friend if you have any at work or during your lunch break. That should be at your own discretion.
Everyone has issues they are dealing with. It could be an irritating domestic staff or a sick family member, so don’t add to their issues. Create good vibes, happiness vibes, and work-focused vibes around you.
This is vital so that when rare and important issues such as bereavement, or ill-health occur, you will have more sympathy and understanding at a time when you really need it.
