Humble leaders are considered more approachable as they work hand in hand with their followers. Humility is the quality or state of being humble. Humility is also the freedom from pride or arrogance.
Humility is a vital value in leadership. However, humility is not a lack of confidence as humble leaders have confidence in their skills and capacities.
Humility in leadership is not a sign of weakness. A leader is not humble because he or she lacks the proficiency for leadership.
Humility in leadership does not come as a default, therefore a leader must consciously live in humility.
Why is humility in leadership important?
* Humility makes you more accessible to your team
Your team will relate with you adequately when you are humble, As you embrace humility you will be more accessible to your team, and in turn, this will bring furtherance to the organization.
* Humble leaders are open to the team member’s opinions and ideas. When a leader appreciates other people’s ideas, it generates better solutions.
*The team is more likely to respect a humble leader than an arrogant or overconfident one. Respect can help you gain influence with your team.
Humility helps a leader to maintain focus and to remember that he is there to serve the people.
