This trait is a vital competence and skill for the workplace, especially in today’s world.
Every employer wants to know that the person they’re looking to employ will be able to maximize limited resources for the benefit of the organization.
Resources in the workplace will mean everything needed to carry out successful projects or programs. They include people, finances, machinery, technology, etc.
It’s essential that as a new hire, one has the skills necessary for the management of these resources.
Resource management is important in every organization for the following reasons:
– It helps to save finances.
– It aids in the effective use of limited resources.
– It ensures that available resources are not wrongly allocated or spent.
– It helps in the standardization of procedures and processes.
In order to exhibit this competence, one will have to;
– Pay attention to details
– Be adept at record-keeping
– Have the ability to relate with and communicate to all categories of people
– Have a basic knowledge of new technology and media
– Have financial integrity
– Be a quick learner
With these few points, it’s evident that Resource Management is a skill/competence that must be acquired for one to have a competitive edge in the labour market.
