I tell them all the time, I am a Ghetto child. I know hunger, I know thirst, I know shame yet I have always battled my storm in smiles….from nothing to here, all the suffer ehhhh. I chose to do better because of my kids. So no matter what comes, I don see 99 so 100 no be anything……Mercy Johnson, reminiscing on her humble beginnings as an actress.
Lessons
- Everyone has a story, the journey to greatness isn’t always rosy.
- Do not despise the days of humble beginnings
- Don’t be afraid to face the cold, to gather the logs that will keep you warm. Develop the strength to face tough times.
- Smile no matter what you are going through.
Valuable Concepts in Goal-Setting
Goal setting is the process of deciding what you want to accomplish and devising a plan to achieve the results you want.
Valuable concepts in goal-setting include;
Conquer your fears
So many people are afraid to set major goals in life because their minds have been limited by their environment and circumstances.
- Step out of the circle of fear
- Have a big vision
- Set big goals
It’s okay to start small
It’s okay to start small in the short term even though your long-term goals are big (Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish- Job 8:7)
- Accept and appreciate your humble beginnings.
- Don’t stay small. Be conscious of where you are headed.
Be resilient
Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.
- Face difficulties with toughness.
- Don’t run in the face of challenges, face them and overcome them.
Conclusion
Set your goals. Don’t be afraid to start small. God always gives a great blessing to humble beginnings than to those that start with the chiming of bells.
