Making the most of your singleness
“Michael” had just finished secondary school and wrote JAMB, hoping to gain admission. He was bullied by his friends for being afraid of ladies. Unknown to them, the young boy who was 19 years of age, had made a promise to himself that he will not date any lady till he was done with his University Degree Studies by God’s grace. This was not because he could not date a lady, but because he wanted to invest in himself, build character, build a career and aim at long-term success.
He gained admission into the university and stayed off dating throughout his study years. While his friends were having fun, he was busy building on his computer science career and stayed single. He would make out time to chat with his friends occasionally.
He graduated as the best student in his department and started his own computer technology company, handling repairs, coding, and creating apps for other companies, etc. In five years, he was among the best computer scientist in the city where he lived. Some of his friends had to settle for smaller jobs and some worked under him as their boss.
