Game On
In the game of football, we have three major categories of people;
– the active participants who are the players in the field.
– the supporters club, who cheer the players to victory.
– the spectators who watch the game from the sidelines.
Among these three categories, it is the active players that get the most significant benefits from the game. They get financial benefits, fame, influence, etc. The supporters club may or may not always get paid. The spectators get entertained and that’s all they get.
Life is like a game of football. You are the active player in the game of your life. You get a chance to play the game. How you play it determines what you get from it. If you play well, you go further in the game. A good player gets the trophies, the accolades, and the rewards. If you are sloppy on the field, you lose your spot. You may end up as a spectator of the game.
Different people will act as your teammates at different points in your life. They will have an influence on your game. You may not always have the liberty to choose your teammates. These could be your parents, guardians, siblings, loved ones, teachers, etc. Cooperate with them. Learn as much as you can from them. Friends, mentors, and spouses also fall within this category. Choose them with care. They can help to groom or mar your destiny.
Your fans are your support team. They can cheer you from the sidelines, but they cannot play for you or greatly influence your game.
The spectators in your life are your acquaintances. Their role is to watch from the sidelines to see how your life will play out if they are interested.
Know this;
– Your preparation greatly influences your output on the field. Don’t joke with knowledge. Don’t joke with practice. Learn the strategies of the game.
– Every footballer has his most active years in the game. That’s how life is designed. Your target is to get the best out of your most active years.
– Even in friendly matches, the scoreline also matters. Develop a winner’s mentality. Aim to score early. This improves your chances of winning the game.
Psalm 25: 4-5 – Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
The game is on. Shoot your shots.
Stay blessed.
