Taking the right decisions
Our theme for next week is, ‘taking the right decisions. Earlier today, we read the story of two young girls that sold their organs and eggs for a paltry sum of money to a hospital, without the knowledge and consent of their parents. In the process, a lot of their organs were damaged and one of them lost consciousness.
We are constantly faced with the burden of taking decisions. Some of these decisions are critical while some are not. For instance, the decision of what to eat may not be as essential as the choice of a course of study.
Some of our choices can be self-volition, while some can be influenced by others. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob by self-volition. It was his choice. At the same time, we live in a world where people are constantly trying to influence the choices of others. This can either be for good, selfish, or economic reasons. The volume of voices and adverts is constantly on the increase.
– How do we sieve through the noise of voices to ensure that we are not unduly influenced to make a wrong choice?
– How do we ensure that we take only the right decisions?
– What do we do when faced with the task of making a critical decision?
Life is a game of decisions. Actions follow decisions. Consequences follow actions. When we take the wrong decisions, we are left to face the consequences.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! Joel 3:14a
We will be discussing this crucial topic all through the coming week.
I see you winning.
