Seven Lessons from The Birth of Jesus.
When Jesus was born, His star shone brightly in the sky. It attracted the attention of wise men from the east.
Lesson 1– You are born as a bright star. Don’t settle for the dust.
The wise men came to Jerusalem to worship HIM. This good news troubled Herod. Herod saw Jesus as a competition.
Lesson 2- Your good news may not be acceptable to everyone. Be discreet in your affairs. Protect your dream.
Herod inquired from the wise men about the timing of the birth of Jesus. He asked them to find His birthplace, so he may also worship Him. His plan was to destroy Jesus. The wise men were warned not to return to Herod in a dream. Therefore, they returned to their home country.
Lesson 3- Be spiritually alert and sensitive. You don’t have to be spooky and suspicious of everyone, but always ask God for sensitivity and direction.
An angel appeared to Joseph saying, arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt and stay there until I bring you word.
Lesson 4- Though Jesus was born as a savior to the world. He was not ready for ministry at birth. He had to grow and be nurtured. He had to be prepared for his assignment. There are some big assignments you will handle, but you have to be prepared for them. Don’t come out before you are ready.
Jesus had to be protected from Herod. He was taken to Egypt for safety.
Lesson 5– Be wise. Know when to stay and when to retreat. Apply wisdom in your affairs.
Joseph arose immediately. He took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt.
Lesson 6- Act at the appropriate time. Don’t delay especially over divine instructions. Herod saw that he was deceived by the wise men. He was angry and killed all the babies below two years in Bethlehem. But Jesus was saved because Joseph obeyed immediately.
When Herod was dead, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in Egypt. He was instructed to return back to the land of Israel.
Lesson 7- Always listen for further instructions from God. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they have arrived. God is always ready to take us further if we are willing to follow him. Egypt was not the final destination for Jesus. It was just a transit location. When we are divinely guided by God, we cannot miss it in the journey of life.
Stay blessed.
I see you winning.
